results and the not-new plan
On Tuesday 11/12/19, Chris and I went to speak with Dr. Drake about the status of things and what our next steps are. The good news is that we have stopped the progression of the disease; there is no new tumor growth. This means that the treatment is working. The next goal is to actually shrink the tumor and, ultimately, to get a "complete response" meaning that the tumor goes away entirely.
We discussed the options for how to get there. This includes staying the current course, or switching to a different treatment. Either way, the goal is to shrink the tumor medically. Radiation and surgery are not on the table at this point.
The immediate plan is to stay the course for three more rounds of infusions, and then another round of scans, and then make a decision.
We are trying to get together what questions to ask over the next few visits to get a good understanding of what the pros and cons are so that we can make the best decision.
