post-covid, visit to va,
Chris did end up with COVID by Tuesday. He joined me at Bluebird where we enjoyed the wonders of having multiple places to nap, separate beds to cough all night, and could eat soups together.
We both survived COVID mostly unscathed-- it was unpleasant for sure, but certainly not what it could have been had we not been vaccinated and boosted.
Unfortunately, I was still testing positive throughout the Wisemans' visit. They stayed in Tarrytown and were still able to go to Legoland.
Both Chris and I returned to work on Monday a bit worse for wear, but able to pitch in for the other teachers who had been stricken. It was an all-hands-on-deck situation with teachers getting sick and needing coverage.
On April 12, we remembered my mom with a toast and a visit from a good friend. I appreciated all of the lovely stories and texts I received to help me recall her humor, grace, and charm. I hope I make the same mark on the people I meet.
Between missing Mom and the failed Wiseman visit, I needed some family time. I originally was planning to join Chris to visit his mother for her birthday, because I had an MRI and other tests that were scheduled for the end of the day on Good Friday (a day that we had off!). After some big emotions and important conversations, I decided to reschedule the tests and head to Virginia.
I spent much of Friday with Kelly doing fun errands like shopping and getting a haircut-- by Susan Sarandon's sister no less!
It was lovely to see everyone. I was even able to spend the night in Richmond and have quality BeLaniMax time! Max is a sweet little nugget who loves to make jokes, snuggle up, and get crafty! I wish he could hang with me all the time!
Kenny is such a BIG KID now! He is obsessed with Pokemon and can decode any word! I am so proud of how much he has grown this year.
It was a lovely trip with *lots* of driving and traffic, but well worth it. I was a bit fatigued on Sunday and ended up sleeping for over an hour at a rest stop in order to safely make it home.
I spent Monday (4/18/22) at the hospital doing chemo. No major updates-- in part because I didn't get the tests done.
Things are still humming along. I am looking forward to warmer weather coming north and a delightful summer of visitors. Let me know if you would like to come too!
