No News is Good News... because we are too busy to sit down and finish writing!

Update time!

"No news is good news!" Chris and I have been very busy living our lives and not focusing on symptoms, fatigue, or general cancer-related topics! YAY!

I won't bury the lede here: I'm fine. No changes to treatment. Scans look stable. I am feeling mostly OK most of the time. Some days are still tricky, but I am trying very hard every day to be focused on all that I can do.

EDIT: So I wrote the bulk of this post last week during my chemo day. At the time, other than three rather unpleasant IV attempts, everything was just fine. Then, two days later I unexpectedly felt very sick and became incoherent and fainted. Chris called emergency services. The whole episode was under a half hour, but was dramatic all the same.  I am totally fine now, and they had no idea what happened.

Here are the highlights from the last few months!

MAY

- We became members of the NY Botanical Gardens. We have visitor passes! Please come be our guest!

- My birthday was small and delightful. As always, I am very happy to be alive!!

- L O T S of planting at Rock Hill.... annnnnnnnnnnd most of it was eaten by the deer. I am working on a solution so I do not feel so defeated. Also, I learned yet again: don't bother with seeds.

JUNE

- I loved seeing Max and the fam so much that I flew down for is 2.5 birthday party! Max is a treat and wants to make sure that everyone knows the value of a sump pump, the wonder of an HVAC system, and tornado safety.

- Chris and I went to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child! It felt so wonderful to be at a Broadway show again.

- There is always a marathon at the end of the school year-- but this one was particularly challenging.

- Chris won the much-deserved Oscar Kimmelman award for being the teacher who made the most lasting impression on the Class of 2020 as they reflected back on their time at Hackley. I could not be more proud of him!

- There was a bridal shower for my wonderful friend Kristen. I will officiate her wedding in September!!!

- We traveled to SWVA for a friend vacay! I love seeing my friends as parents--and getting to play with their babies.

- We went up to Central VA to see BeLaniMax again!

- We saw the Wisemans for a few days, and Chris helped Dad with some MEGA chores at his house.

JULY (so far!)

- Kenny spent nearly a week with us!

- Uncle Ian came for a visit!

- The Wisemans stayed in Rock Hill for a few days!

- Chris' Dad and his finacee Janet came for a visit!

- Dad and Ann came up as well! We achieved some wonderful improvements on the house and went to a concert!

We are looking forward to a few weeks of a slower pace, then some more visitors, and a trip to the beach!

Meanwhile, we will kayak, paddleboard, do some chores (So.Many.Chores!), and enjoy the rest of summer!
