Camp LeToomis 2023

The 22-23 school year ended on a nice note. We had AJ and Uncle Trevor visit over Memorial Weekend-- when they enjoyed their first s'more! The next weekend I joined the family in Va so that we could have a day all together!

At Hackley's awards ceremony, I was surprised and honored to receive the DelMoro award for distinguished teaching in the Lower School. I continue to feel stunned and humble that my outstanding colleagues nominated me.

We barely took a deep breath between the last day of class and then boarding a plane for a trip to Aix-en-Provence with 16 high school students! It was beautiful, exhausting, and fun. I would totally do it again!

We came back and unpacked our bags to quickly pack them back up again and head to VA for Deedle Day. Deedle Day is when we celebrate Dad because his birthday and father's day are so close together.

We left from VA to the beach with the sibs! Max fell in love with the waves-- and it was so fun to watch.

While Chris adventured to La Jolla for professional development, I supervised some exterior improvements to our driveway and front circle in rock hill.

We hosted the Wisemans for a weekend, and then enjoyed a week with Kenny! Kenny is a voracious reader and prolific artist. He loves Dog Man books and sharpie markers. He is also super into scrabble, swimming, and sour patch kids. We had an awesome time together!

I returned Kenny to his parents and joined Chris in Tarrytown to move apartments. We didn't move far-- just across the deck-- but it has made a huge difference! We now have a proper kitchen, full bath, and many fewer exposed pipes! We look forward to hosting you for a cocktail soon!

Our next adventure was back down to VA for a party to celebrate Dad and Ann's engagement! We enjoyed tasty food and meeting many future family members! We are all thrilled for them and excited to expand the family with such lovely people.

We left VA with an extra passenger! Max hitched a ride with us and had excellent behavior for the 6 hour trek! We ended the ride with a splash in the pool and Dino Nuggets for dinner.

His parents arrived that evening with Robin in tow for a week of crafting, cooking, fairy house construction, hiking, swimming, hammock swinging, oreos, s'mores, ice cream and more! Camp LeToomis is a superfun time!

As the LeTards left, Dad arrived! He and Chris wasted no time installing a garbage disposal and new outlets in the basement; fixing the living room fan-- which involved digging around in the attic to fix broken wires; deer-proofing my dogwood tree, and more! It is always great to have Dad's help!

We were hoping to host Iva this week, but she is under the weather, so we will have to plan a visit soon.

COVID limited my family time, so I am truly grateful that I was able to have a summer so filled with family!
